Yonida

Privacy notice

Last updated 21 September 2026

This notice covers the yonida.app website, and the anonymous usage counts from the Yonida iPhone app while it is in testing. The app is not released yet and will have its own full notice when it is.

Who we are

Yonida is a product of CSXII LTD (registered in England and Wales, company number 17156821), 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@yonida.app.

What we collect, and why

Your email address, if you join the waitlist

When you submit the form, we store:

  • the email address you typed;
  • which of the three forms on the page you used, so we know what people respond to;
  • the time you signed up, the time we sent your confirmation email, and the time you confirmed or unsubscribed.

We use this for one thing: to send you a confirmation email, and then one email when your invite is ready. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to any other list. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming by email.

A fingerprint of your IP address, to stop abuse

When you submit the form we take your IP address, combine it with a secret value, and store the resulting one-way hash — never the address itself. It exists only to notice that the same submitter is filling the form repeatedly. It cannot be turned back into your address, it is not linked to your email record, and it is deleted within one day.

Anonymous, cookieless page analytics

We count page views and how many people submit the form. This site sets no cookies and no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind. The analytics do not identify you and are not joined to your waitlist record. There is no session recording and no automatic capture of what you type.

Anonymous usage counts from the app, while it is in testing

If you are testing the Yonida app, it counts what happens in it: that it was opened; which kind of session you asked for — daytime or wind-down, its length, its tone, the sound beneath the voice, the app's language and the time of day; whether that session was ready, failed or stalled; whether a session played through or was stopped early, and roughly how far in; and whether you saved a favourite or answered the questions at the end.

It never sends what you type — not your notes, not your reasons, not your answers. It does not send the session itself, your scores, or any link to your audio. The app stores no identifier for this and keeps nothing between launches, so the counts cannot be tied to you or joined to your account.

You can switch it off in the app's Settings at any time. The switch takes effect at once.

Your name, if you give it

If you share your name when you sign in with Apple or Google, or type one in the app's Profile, we keep it with your account so the app can greet you by your first name. It is stored with your account, and nowhere else: it never appears in the usage counts, is never part of a Featured session, and is not shared. You can change or remove it in Profile at any time, and it is deleted with your account.

Sessions made without a note may be shared as Featured sessions

A session you ask for without writing a note carries nothing about you: the words in it come only from your choices of direction, length, tone, voice and sound. Such a session may be copied and offered to everyone in the app as a Featured session, without your name or anything that points to you. Your own copy stays yours and is unaffected. A session made with a note is never shared; nothing you write afterwards — a journal note, a reason, an answer — changes that.

Who processes it for us, and where

  • Supabase — stores the waitlist database and the app's account data, including your name if you give it, on servers in the United States.
  • Resend — delivers the confirmation and invite emails, from the United States.
  • PostHog — the anonymous analytics above, for both the website and the app, hosted in the European Union.
  • Vercel — hosts and serves this website.

So your email address is stored and sent from the United States. Each of these companies acts only on our instructions under a data-processing agreement, and for the transfer out of the UK we rely on the safeguards those agreements provide — standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Your waitlist record is kept until launch, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. The IP fingerprint is deleted within a day. If you never confirm your address, we delete the record rather than emailing you again. The app's usage counts carry no identifier, so there is no record of yours to find or delete.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe — every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Delete your record — email hello@yonida.app and we will remove it. You do not have to give a reason.
  • See what we hold, correct it, or take it elsewhere — same address. We will respond within one month.

Because we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes materially we will update the date at the top of the page, and if the change affects how we use an address you have already given us, we will email you.
